
DeAndrea Fleming aka "Andi Rose" is the CEO/ founder of educational coaching and consulting company, Mark of Resilience, where her focus is specifically aligned around culturally competent and gender-responsive development. Her mission is designed to broaden educational and workforce development opportunities for low-income girls and girls of color, and identifies and addresses trauma as the root cause of behavior that can lead girls into the juvenile justice system. The GIRLS-ESTEAM Development Institute utilizes “The Six Essential Tenets (SET) of Highly Resilient Female Teachers, Leaders and Girls: A Context for Experiencing School” framework integrated with STEAM based instruction and dialogue to promote the selection of STEM professions and future ART careers in Film, Television, Theater, and all other entertainment markets.
With over 19 years of knowledge, experience, and passion in the educational profession as a teacher before advancing to a Math Department Chair, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal and a Central Office Professional, DeAndrea’s personal agenda is to “Keep Children First” in every decision made. She believes deeply in the power of a great education by providing extensive educational opportunities for every student and a conducive learning environment for students to thrive academically and socially.
She sought after the improvement of educational policy for equity and academics for children and was elected as Vice-President of the DeSoto ISD School Board Trustees where she currently serves and as the 2018-2019 Regional Vice President of the Texas Caucus of Black School Board Members. She is an active member of NABSE, TABSE and current President of SWABSE. (Southwest Alliance of Black School Educators) Fleming was named the TABSE School Board Member of the Year in 2019, SWABSE School Board Member of the Year 2019 and earned the highest attainment of Master Trustee through Leadership TASB in 2020. She has testified on behalf of African-American Studies for students in the state of Texas in Austin in 2019 as well as served as the TASB Delegate for the past 3 years where she helped create policy that would be lobbied in the Legislative Sessions. She was instrumental in serving on panels that provided insight into the Superintendency, Athletic Director Candidates, Social-Emotional Learning and protesting injustices in the community as activist.
DeAndrea earned a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing with a minor in African American Studies from the University of Houston. She holds a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Prairie View A&M University, and dual Masters of Education Degrees in Training and Development and Education Technology from Texas A&M University- Commerce. Currently, DeAndrea is completing her final year of a Doctorate of Education in K-12 Education Leadership at Dallas Baptist University. She is the proud mother of 2 children and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a co-host of "My SiSStaS Keeper" and "The School Tea with Poole & Dee" TV/Radio Shows and Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction for Black History 365 Education.
